Flying Solo is a group of single adults
who get together for a time of fun and fellowship with other
single's in a comfortable, non-dating type atmosphere. We
have monthly meetings at our Crossfire Youth group room in
downtown Sterling. Our group enjoys getting out for a variety
of other activities all through the year such as picnics &
BBQ's, bowling, going out to eat, movies, museums, flea markets,
campouts, day trips, holiday parties, etc.
The primary function of our group is
to HAVE GOOD, CLEAN FUN!!
YES, you are allowed to play games.
YES, you are allowed to be silly.
YES, you are allowed to bring snacks and/or non-alcoholic
drinks.
YES, you may bring your single friends.
NO, this is not a dating club; just a bunch of single people
who want to get together for fun, food & fellowship -
public displays of affection are not appropriate during our
Flying Solo functions.
NO, you may not bring your children; adults need an occasional
night out for themselves.
Mark
& Sue Nobis are our single's leaders as well as the Outreach
Directors of Amazing Grace. Sue has been a member of Amazing
Grace since 1991 and Mark since 1994. They began dating in
1995 and were married in 1996. Before marriage, both Mark
and Sue had been single for several years (both coming out
of divorce) and know the struggles and emotions that single
people face, especially where there are children involved.
Then in 2002, they both felt the heart of God pulling them
towards Christian singles and recognized the need for this
type of group among our members as well as the outreach opportunity
it could provide. They followed that leading and "Flying
Solo" was formed.
